Question Opteka gear

Has Anyone bought Opteka equipment? they have very good prices, but I am concerned about the quality (despite having read positive reviews online). I would want to just get some extra backup things like filters, batteries, and a backpack for outdoor filming trips. Maybe even an extra tripod would be nice to keep in the car. Any thoughts? Thanks!!

Filters - no, get good hoya, B+W etc. Battery's, I wouldn't, Backpack- get a lowepro or tarmac, it will last you so much longer. Tipod - no, invest in a good one.

The only good stuff they make is the stuff you cant get other places, AKA they make good flash diffusers. and Mirror lenses.

Default Opteka is worth a shot.

I bought an Opteka grip for my T1i, and a battery for my XSi. No problems with either item. I will try Opteka again.

Lots of shiny glass stuff and a few flashes. Latest hardware: 100-400L. Yippee!

If the reviews are good, and the price is right, go for it. If they turn out not to be as good as advertised, then you won't be out as much money, you can post reviews and save other people the trouble, and you can get good equipment to replace it. If they are as good as advertised, then you just saved some money--money that can go to a new lens down the road.
