Default Modifying a Tripod

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone has tried modifying their tripod before. I currently have a Rollei Prego 0525 as my tripod and it uses clips to tighten the legs, but I prefer to use twist locks. (I didn't have a choice in choosing this when I got the tripod.) It has been a year since I've had it but I still haven't gotten use to it and prefer the twist locks and was wondering if it was possible to just switch them out and how I should go in choosing the proper locks for them? Thanks for the help.

Is there an objective reason why would you want to do that, besides you not being accustomed to it? Are the legs loose right now? I'm not sure if you can do that, or if you can find twist locks sold separately. Even if you did, there's a big chance that you would do more harm than good to it, maybe even loose some stability. And what about the warranty?

Legs aren't loose, it was just a random thought I had today and wanted to know if I could actually do it since it has been bothering me for some time. What about the warranty? I think it is over and even if it isn't, I'm not in the same country I bought it in, so that won't do me much good anyways. Not sure there is an objective reason, just that it would be "better" to use in my opinion I guess. I don't want to just buy a new tripod since this one works, just a thought since if I can change the head, why can't I change the locks sort of idea.
