Question Canon EF-S 15-85 vs Sigma 18-250 DC OS HSM

Hi,

I have the Sigma 18-250 and recently purchased a Canon 7D + 15-85 lens. I've always known that the Sigma wasn't the greatest quality lens (its a superzoom afterall) but I purchased it because I liked the freedom of having a all-in-one lens. I now have the 15-85 and I really like it as well. I especially like that it starts wider and it still has quite a bit of zoom... but it isn't as far as the Sigma.

I have to sell one but I'm not sure which one to sell. I like the idea of having further reach... but I know the alternative is better image quality. I know people will ask, "what kind of photography do you do?" so here it is: everything. Before this I had the T2i and I was using it for some landscape, as well as events and whatnot.

Any feedback or tips to make this decision easier would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you shoot "everything" you will end up with a few more lenses.

Why not keep the Sigma lens for those times you really have to travel light (one lens) or as a backup for those "critical" shoots.

I do own a "superzoom", as well as "better" lenses, and that is what I do.

If you do absolutely need to sell one then it would be the one with the poorer IQ.

Unfortunately one does have to be sold (tuition isn't going to pay itself).

I originally purchased the Sigma to replace the Canon 18-55 and 55-250 - it was very frustrating changing lenses mid events. I feel that I would miss the extended range but the tradeoff is losing that 15mm focal length and better IQ. Such a tough decision...
