I'm waiting for the day when someone decides to incorporate an alarm clock into the camera. Set it for 5am and it starts pulsing the flash at you to wake you up. So you go out to shoot and find you've got a flat battery and miss golden hour recharging!

That would suck. Although if it was an alarm that took a photo at a certain time, that would be cool.

What? A shot of your face as the alarm drags you back from the land of Nod? Priceless, no doubt!

I guess my GorillapodSLR is the least useful object I've bought so far. It's hard to adjust the camera position when the camera is mounted directly on the gorillapod (thoug a tripod head had solved this problem, but I haven't botherd to buy one since I hardly use the GP) The GP works well in some occations, but overall I regret buying it.

Only tripods i have is a free Nikon one and a $20 Quantary, I get along fine
as far as camera armor mentioned earlier on, I find it useful.. of course, I literally have taken my camera into tiny volcanic caves that I sometimes had to crawl to get through...

khan - try one of those carbon fiber tripods...I have a "good" manfrotto that I bought used off a guy and have lugged it around for nearly five years now...I long for a lighter weight tripod and have even looked at the less expensive brands...
