Default Mods for my 60D: handstraps, flat plates, quick release. what?

So, I wanted to be able to quickly remove my neck strap whilst keeping the hand strap on the camera. Seemed simple enough. But, the attachment of my hand strap (JCC - Janco Camera Company - Amazon.com: Camera Hand Strap For the Canon EOS 450D, 400D, 40D, 30D,20D, 10D, D60, D30, 300D, 350D, 1DS MARK III Digital SLR Cameras: Electronics ) was bulky, not very flat, and unusable for my mods.

I chose a tripod with a very low profile and flat mounting plate. My tripod is the carbon fibre Sunpak 623px ( Amazon.com: Sunpak 623PX 66-inch Pro Carbon Fiber Tripod - with 3-Way Pan Head & Quick-Release Plate plus Carry Case - for Digital SLR Cameras & Video Camcorders: Camera & Photo ).

To accomplish my goal, I had to cut, file and drill a brass house key to fit the mounting plate. Fairly easy to do. I am really happy with the resulting mods.

Not many will want to do this mod. But, someone might. May it'll inspire you to do your own mods. That'd be great.
