Default Cokin/Hitech filters for Nikon 18-55

Hi there -- I've combed the Internet and I'm just so completely confused about what filters and adapaters I need to buy, so I'm hoping someone can clarify for me!

I have a Nikon 18-55 lens and I wanted to buy some graduated ND filters. I've read that Cokin P filter adapters will cause vignetting at 18-24 -- is this true? Do I need the Cokin P wide-angle filter adapater instead?

Second question: I plan to use Hitech filters -- do I need to buy the 85mm or 100mm size? Does the size change depending on whether I have the Cokin p or p wide-angle adapter?

Finally, I love landscape photography. In addition to a grad ND, are there any other 'must-have' filters for a hobbyist?

Thanks!

I hope you get a reply on this I have been researching the same subject and so far all I have is a headache. I want to use a filter system on a Tokina 11-16mm lens for shooting sunsets over water.
I found this as a favored filter but I am still confused as to how to hold it in the adaptor.

Sorry because I don't have patience to write everything again, as I have recently written several posts on this subject, so I'll just point you guys to those threads.

Basically, you will not get vignetting at 18mm with Cokin standard P holder. You don't need Cokin wide angle/slim P holder. You need the slim holder if you're going down to 10-12mm. Buy Hitech filters from their website, they're better quality than Cokin. And you need the 85mm Hitech filters for Cokin P holder (they are 85mm wide and 110mm long).

And just to add a second voice to that, the vignetting does stop by around 12mm with the standard P holder.
