Hello all,
I have a PRO-TECH PRO-099 tripod, which i use for my 40d The problem i have is that the tripod head tilts to the right when the weight of the camera is on it. I have till recently just been shoving a folded piece of paper underneath, but this is impractical and doesn't always work. I know new tripod heads can be bought, but is is quite an old tripod, and i cannot see a way to remove its head. If anyone has had a similar problem, or knows a solution, i would be very thankful for the help. I do not wish to replace the tripod though, as it is very light, and useful for travel Thankyou |

To be honest, I've never heard of this make and model.
the solution was to relegate them to lighting stands and buy a decent one.. Unless doing up the screws tighter helps, I'm not sure there's much you can do. I've had a couple of cheap tripods that behave the way you describe and I tended to put one of the legs slightly shorter than the others because it meant I didn't need to bring paper with me.. Until I got fed up with it and paid a fair amount of money for a decent tripod. Manfrotto are a decent make, but make sure it's one that's designed for the weight of your camera.
