Default Nikon af-s vr 105 mm f/2.8g if-ed

I'm after a lens for portrature and similar as well as Macro. I'm interested in a decent lens for indoor work. The reviews of this lens suggest that it might be what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have any experience of this lens? Is it any good? I'm after something that will outlast my camera, and be compatitble with FF if possible.

I have this lens and it's just great - tack sharp and the AF is very quick. With 9 blades it produces beautiful bokeh and for portraiture work it would be even more suitable on a full frame camera. Feels nicely built also.

Thanks.. That's the review I read that made me think it might be a good buy. Now has anyone got any ideas on how to explain to my wife why I might need yet another lens?

you need another lens for the same reason she needs another pair of shoes! Besides you will be using this lens for your circus work as well, so explain to her that you'll make the money back plus some!
