i have read of that happening on Neil Van Niekerk's website (the unit shutting down to prevent damage). Bummer when it happens and you have no back up.

There's a temp gauge on the flash, and it'll only climb really quickly if you fire off full-power flashes one right after the other quickly for extended periods. Only suggestion would be to tone down the power on the flash (by using a larger aperture or higher ISO) or to shoot slower.
