Default Trying to decide which monitor calibration software is best

Hello all, I am trying to decide which monitor calibration software to purchase. I do most of my editing in Lightroom on my Dell Inspiron Laptop. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

In order to properly calibrate a monitor, you'll need a hardware solution. There are several good options. I use the OnOne devices, and it works great. There are other brands, but in most cases, the software you'll use is whatever comes with the device.

Yeah I have heard of the Eye-One and Spyder devices/programs, just wondering what everyone's recommendations were!

I'm using the Syder 3 Pro
Spyder3Pro - Datacolor - Global Leader in Color Management Solutions

You will see a little difference if you do a lot of prints. But it's not like your picture will go for trash to a masterpiece. This is only rendering colors properly. Monitors by default are still pretty close.

But if most of your business is online (such as websites, etc.) this wont help you. Many people are using modes to enhance brightness and saturation to get a wow effect.

I'm also using Spyder 3 Pro. Very happy with it. I do a good amount of prints and have noticed quite a difference. Never realized how much my monitor was actually over brightening images which made me darken them during post process causing me to get darker than expected prints. I recalibrate about once a month and all is well now. No guessing if the print will come out like I see on the monitor.

Spyder 3 Pro is the best for its price range IMHO. I've used Spyder devices for the better part of a decade now in personal and professional production environments.

Is there a big difference between the express and the pro spyder?

Someone on another thread mentioned needing a particular device for a particular monitor. I am buying an HP zr24w and have an early 2008 MacBook. Do I need to be concerned with which product to get?
