Telezoom buying advice needed

I'm looking to get a f2.8 telezoom for my D80. The Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 APO EX DC II HSM seems to be right up my alley, but it does have some drawbacks, like not being dust-/ water sealed (it will definately get exposed to some rain), no VR, and a crummy finish. I have concidered the Tokina equivalent, but from what i have read, the Sigma is a lot sharper at wide open, and image quality is paramount off course.
Looking for other suggestions, if there are any better options in a comfortable price range.
