Default Safest & Pro way to clean lenses? Please suggest!

Hello,
i'm pretty new to photography.
I've got Canon 50 1.2 and i ve got a few dust p. on the lens , so i need to clean it - but i'm afraid even to touch my glass. So what is the safest way to clean glass? I've heard of some lens PEN which u can use to clean lenses. Please advice and tell how you clan your expensive lenses.

Thank you!

Simple dust cleaning and water spots - a lens cloth
Smudges, fingerprints - lens solvent and lens tissues

I recommend use of UV or skylight filters that can be cleaned more frequently and aggressively...they're a lot easier to replace than your lens, and you don't have to worry about destroying the coatings on your lenses.

They are fairly tough, and as long as you don't have grit or sandy type debris on it, they will clean up without scratching. I usually use lens wipe clothes, which are in the little foil packages like wet wipes. Not to start the great UV debate, but I do use filters on all my lenses so that there is not dirt on the actual glass. Lets face it, but no matter how carefully you clean them you will eventually get tiny scratches from wiping. Just ask anyone who wears specticals, they are only good for a few years even with antiscratch coating, because if you clean them a couple times a day they eventually get hair line scratches. This way, I never actually have to clean the lens, just blow it off once in a while.

I tried the dishwasher once, but it did not end well

2 must have as a photographer, Gitzo Rocket (or any other air blower), and Lenspen.

I use the Gitzo rocket to blow off the dust. If there are still some dust left I left the brush on my lenspen to swipe it off then I use the other side of the lenspen to clean smudges.

Most of the time I don't need the Gitzo rocket because its kinds big for me to carry around and the lenspen does the job. The lenspen is really cheap, Amazon.com: LensPEN Lens Cleaning System: Camera & Photo

Just about every damn cleaning method possible for lenses is described in the following lensrentals.com post:

I LOVE the photo of their cleaning work station setup.
