I want to step up my portrait work, and I've got some money to put into a portable strobe setup.
I've settled on a Bower at $120US, with a swing arm and a hot shoe cable that will bring it to about $200US. I've got about another $400 to spend. I'd like to be able to remove the speedlite from my camera and attach it to a single shoot-thru umbrella, like a 32" or 36" or so. I need some equipment recommendations to make this happen. Can you tell me what I'll need? Thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure if you are "set" on the umbrella....but, fwiw..
I bought an umbrella, then saw Joe McNally and David Hobby, on the Flash Bus Tour using this.... Lumiquest LTp I ordered one, and havent used my umbrella since. This thing folds up great, and fits in the laptop compartment of my backpack....so I can take it anywhere. Dont have to worry about the wind catching it and blowing it over, etc. Used it on an outdoor shoot last week, with an SB-700, on a stand (using the bracket inkista mentions). The first 4 pictures under the "Portraits" section of my website Spontaneous Creations are shots from the shoot.. It's easy to install, in under a minute...(using the additional velcro strap that I just leave on the SB).. Just my 2c's |

Thanks to both of you for the help. Divot: That's an interesting looking box and I'm going to take a more serious look at it. Nice portrait work, too. :-)
