I have only just discovered Screw ON Graduated ND Filters, (where have I been all my life).
So I decided to try one to see what kind of results I could get from it. I found one on Ebay for £8 including postage, so I was not expecting too much from it, but I was pleasantly surprised what good results I got using it. I checked it out for flaws and could not find any, put my grubby greasy little fingers all over it and wiped it clean, no scratch marks. On the same Ebay page I also found the same description filter costing £80. Does anyone know why the same type of filter can cost 10 times more. Is there so much difference to warrant such a high price. |

I paid $90 US for a Lee 2 stop ND grad filter. The pros on this site say you get what you pay for. I know cheaper ND grad filters like Cokin are supposed to be gray, not a neutral color. I would never get a screw in filter because you don't have flexibility moving the horizon up/down.
ND - Graduated neutral density filters - which one to get?

Thanks for the info and the link.
I have just purchased a Colkin P series holder and a 2x and 4x graduated ND filters. I have done a few more tests and now I know what I am looking for, I did notice a slight cast. As I am retired now and only take pictures for my own pleasure I don't think that I will let it bother me, especially as I am saving so much money. |

I've heard SwissJon and another photographer say that HiTech works pretty well for a budget friendly price.
