Default Lowepro Case for Canon 70-300?

Has anyone tried fitting a Lowepro lens case for the Canon 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM? I'm looking at the following:
  • Lens case 2 - looks like a good fit for the lens, but no room for a hood.
  • Lens case 2S - could work, but seems just a bit short. Looks like the lens might fit if the top gives just a bit more room?
  • Lens case 3 - seems like it would fit, but this is getting pretty large.
  • Lens case 11x26 - this seems to be the best fit from their current lineup, but again, this one is *really* large.
If anyone's tried the 2S with this lens, that would probably be most helpful, because this seems like just the right size if it can stretch just a bit.

I use a "2" for my Nikon 70-300 VR. Its a bit long (about 3/4") but its the best fit.

Ok - my guess is that's w/o a hood, right? As far as I can see, the Canon 70-300 is a similar diameter, but just a bit longer, so the "2" would fit the lens itself very well. Thanks for the reply.

FYI - I'm trying to wrangle some insight out of LowePro about whether they're planning a version of the Lens Exchange 200AW in a slightly smaller size. I really like the AW cover and pull-handle design on the Lens Exchange bag, but the 200 is just way too big for me.

That's with a hood reversed, for travel. When I get to my destination and need to hot-swap thelenses, the hood goes on and the lens goes in. It sticks out a bit which makes it easier to grab
