Are there any third party rubber focusing rings out there?

I just did a quick search on Google and eBay and found nothing.

I was shooting with my 18-105mm G lens this morning and I wanted to take multiple shots to get everything in focus, but focusing on an accurate distance with a G lens is not easy, especially if the subject is small (grass) and because my camera doesn't have live view so I could zoom in to check the focus.

My idea was that someone out there makes rubber rings which would fit onto the narrow Nikon G lens focusing ring, and have a distance scale on it. The focusing ring has small ribs on it, so it would be possible to make a ring which fits it without moving and fiddling. Have you seen anything like this?

The problem is that G lenses dont have hard focus stops.

Sorry, but, what are hard focus stops? What do you mean by that?

It means the focus ring doesnt actually stop when it hits the end of the focus range: it keeps spinning if you push. Older lenses didnt have this: they stop when the reach the end of their focus range. Try it on any AF-D lens, for instance.

Oh, I see! But there are stops so to say, I can feel when I come to the end, without applying additional force to keep turning it. It would be a useful thing.
