Default Which camera bag

Hi,

I'm just after some advice regarding an over-the-shoulder style camera bag.

I have a small Tamrac bag I bought when I bought my D3000 (18-55mm kit). I now have a D5000 with 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses.

Due to having a larger lens my new camera does not fit in the bag with the 55-200mm lens fitted.

I am after the smallest bag I can get away with (so I can chuck it in rucksacks/suitcases etc) that will fit my D5000 with the 55-200 fitted (and the inverted lens hood).

All I can seem to find is a selection of small carry pouches and large bags for a boy or two with storage for 3+ lenses!

I would appreciate any comments and advice!

Thank you very much! Jamie.

If you only want to carry the camera + 55-250 (and a spare battery/card) you may find a Think Tank digital holster meets your needs.
Can be used over with an added strap or own your belt or placed in a suitcase etc..
I own a couple of them.

That looks like a really neat idea! It has the ability to change size depending on which lens you have!

Thank you very much, I'm not sure how I didn't manage to find one of these looking on the internet before!

Love some of your steam engine shots by the way!

Thanks again!

Try a Tamrac Rally 5. It's a messenger-type bag that is big enough for your camera and lens, plus a bit more, such as a flash and filters. Ritz has them in a store near you.

Try a Tamrac Rally 5. It's a messenger-type bag that is big enough for your camera and lens, plus a bit more, such as a flash or second lens. Ritz has them in a store near you. It may be a larger than a holster, but in my experience you'll find yourself needing more space as time goes on and you find yourself using filters, and various odds and ends, none of which occupy a lot of space, but are useful (lens cleaning items, a microfiber cloth, a small multitool, a polarizer, an ND filter.) It adds up.

I do a lot of trekking/walk and I found most camera bag really convinient for camera stuff, but a little bit less for other stuff such as water, lunch, raining coat, etc.

This is the bag I'm currenlty using. There is space for 3 lens (including the one on the camera), and I put my Flash in the top section. I use to be able to carry all my stuff (including my Garry Fong, Hyperdrive, etc.) but I have now bought a 4th lens. I'll have to be more picky about what I am carrying now or probably put one in the top section with the flash. There is also a nice system for the tripod.
