430EX ii stopped working with my wireless transmitter

Hi,

I have a Canon 40d and a 430ex ii. The 430 ex ii works when it's attached to the 40d but when i attach it to the CowboyStudio NPT-04 it won't work anymore. It randomly stopped working and i bought a new one and it still doesn't work. any ideas what may be wrong? what other info would you need. i tried using manual and ettl neither one worked.

I would actually suspect the triggers, before I'd suspect the speedlight, particularly if the light works on camera.

Things to check:

1) Batteries. Both on the transmitter and the receiver.
2) Are they on the same channel?
3) Are they both on?
4) Is the flash seated correctly?
5) Is the 430EX in slave mode? (with my RF-602s, if my 430EX or 580EX are in slave mode, they will not take a signal from the hotshoe---they're waiting for the optical signal instead).

I had replaced the batteries before but they must have been bad lol that took care of it.
