Import Model Speedlites?

I found a really good price for Canon Speedlites on Thunder Cameras, they are import models. What is the difference between a USA model and an import model? And is Thunder Cameras a reputable dealer?

No. They are not reputable. Always check a seller out on resellerratings.com, or just google their name + "scam" or "bait'n'switch".

B&H covers the grey market vs. USA stuff pretty cleanly in their FAQ. Generally, if you buy an import/grey market item, the only difference is the warranty coverage. Typically, if you're buying from someone reputable, the warranty will be through the retailer vs. the manufacturer. B&H is a reputable dealer, btw. If you see prices much lower than Adorama, B&H, and Amazon, chances are good it's a bait'n'switch shop.
