Default Camera Blimp and production stills

Hello all.

I will be shooting production stills for a indie film end of this month and a few days next month. Never did this before, and wondering is anyone has any input on making a DIY blimp for the camera. I have a couple links of homemade ones, but wondering if anyone here has ever made/used on before.

Do any of the camera rental places rent them? I know the shutter in my d3100 is quiet but thinking it needs to be even more quiet..

Try some of the camera places in L.A. They probably have them down there.

Good idea Jim, I will search a couple out tomorrow and see if anyone rents them out, Not going to spend a grand on one.

If not will be ordering either a Pelican 1200 or 1150 and making one myself.

Get a Leica M series. They're dead quiet.

LOL

Ya ok. would be nice to have though.

@Cameraman, the blimp I am referred to is a camera case basically that soundproofs the camera, and prevents the shutter sounds etc from being picked up on the set mics of like a movie or tv show etc..
