Nikkor 18-55mm AF-S lens zoom ring stuck

Hello, I have purchased a Nikon D40x with 18-55mm Nikkor lens recently, it has worked really well up to today
The problem is the zoom ring is stuck and won't budge. I don't know why but it won't zoom anymore and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem and/or knows how to fix it? I'm terrified of pulling it apart in fear that i won't be able to put it back together and would really appreciate some helpful tips!

I actually have 2 of them & have never had that happen. When did you buy it & where? You can contact Nikon & they should fix it (if its in the 1 year warranty or you purchased a longer warranty)

The only reason a zoom ring really ever gets stuck is if it's suffered some kind of impact. Look at the lens again and make sure the two sections of it (the outer barrel and inner barrel) are in line with eachother (from all directions).

Happened to me a few years ago. Just send it in for warranty repair.
