I have a 10 year old Quantaray (Tamaron, Sigma?) 70-300 lens. I was happy using it with my D80. Should I hang on to it to use with the D7000?
These were taken on a tripod using a wireless release. I used a single focus point on the tree about 2 feet from the ground. These are direct from the camera, no pp. In Order 70mm @ f8.0 300mm @ f8.0 300mm @ f5.6 300mm @ f32 What are some of your opinions on the lens from what you see.

Quantaray is just Quantaray. It's nothing spectacular. Tamron and Sigma are separate companies.

The 7000 of course places more demands on the lens than the D80. I would try the lens on the 7000 and see if you are satisfied with the performance. If not, then think about replacing it.
