Smile Nikon AF 70-300/4.0-5.6 G Black Nikkor Lens

Hi,
I am thinking of buying Nikon AF 70-300/4.0-5.6 G lens for my nikon d3000. Does anyone have it? Is it good?

I don't, but I will mention that it will not autofocus on your camera

I do, but I've a D7000.

It's a little soft at the long end and I find the close focus to be a little far if you were thinging of doing macro work, and it's quite heavy compared to my old 100-300. I also find the f/5.6 a bit slow at the long end. my 100-300 was 4.5.

However if you stick it on a tripod and use mirror up mode and it's fine, just make sure you have a sturdy tripod.

No VR in that range means a complete deal-breaker for me.
