I am going to be taking some photos of my son for his senior pics. I have a couple of things in mind.
1. I live in southern utah and the scenery is gorgeous- so I have a spot that I picked out with beautiful red rock scenery in the background. I was going to shoot him (standing or on some cool chair), but want to do it at sunset with the red mountains in the background. 2. He runs ( and runs fast) long distance in cross country and track. So I wanted to do something on the track with him and his shoes flung over his shoulder (me on the ground looking up???) with the school sign above. okay- ramble, ramble- point is- should I rent a wide angle? if so- which one??? I own a canon rebel xs with two lenses the standard 18-55 and 70-300 zoom. I appreciate any help! |

Depends on what the rental companies have.
Any of the ultra wide zooms will be fine (10/12-22/24mm range)

Only if you are shooting hand held in low light and don't want to use high ISO.
They are not the world's greatest lenses for straight portraits (because of the perspective when shooting close), but good if you want "edgy" or environmental portraits.
