Default Photography when disabled?

Hello

I fell on the ice during the winter and my knee is all messed up. So much so I can't bend it or squat to get pictures of stuff on the ground like flowers or low angle shots.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how to get low angle and on the ground?

Thx
Snup

Try using a camera with a flip out rotating screen and put it on the end of a mono pod that has a ball head on it. Use a remote controller to fire it.

Snup, I fall often on the ice here in Ukraine and yeah I messed up my knee pretty bad last year. I was not about to buy another camera just to get low angles so I had to work through the injury :-( finally about 1/2 way through rehab I got a set of gel filled knee pads, they helped with being on the ground but not the actual bending and getting up and down, had to use my tripod as a crutch to get up with, not fun.
Hope you get better soon!

Think about how much fun you are having in your expanded Knee rehab program of taking pictures. I sure worked for me. I do still use a walking stick while photographing with two handles (one at normal walking height, the other half way up.) to help in getting up and down (my daughter calls it my he have fallen and can get up stick).

Seriously my photography was my best rehab. After my fall we were told I would never walk again but photography was the driving force that got me out of a wheelchair to a point I can now walk without assistance. My doctor once told me "there is no way you can walk" as he saw me walk into his office.

I am also a disabled user - born with Rickets which make walking extremely difficult and painful. I recently got into photography and bought my first DSLR, and also wanted to start experimenting with low angle photography.

For me, I havent really seen any methods of getting low-angle shots without getting onto the floor and taking the shots yourself. So I tend to stay away from low angle for that very reason. I can get down onto the floor and back up again, but its very difficult. Bending down or crouching isn't an option either.

So I don't really have any advice, but I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Just because you are disabled, and one aspect of photography holds you back a little (low angle), don't let that stop you finding other perspectives. Just go out and experiment. You can get equally good or even better pictures on any number of different perspectives.
