Default Think Tank - Retro 30 review.

Hi there,

Here's a review of this Think Tank bag.
Truly great for concerts/events photography.

See you later,
B.Romain.

I'm very fond of my retrospective 30 as well (had it about a year). But the advertisements are crap IMO...

There's no way I could add a second body in one of the front pockets, the side pockets are worthless, The internal "flash pockets" work well for that, but then the adjacent space, which was supposed to hold a lens, is overcome by the flash. The second front pockets are not well organized for the stuff I want to carry....

I typically carry a 12-24 or 28-70 f/2.8 , SB800, a variable ND, a CPL, a set of batteries (camera and flash), a lens pen, a hoodman, and my D3 with either a 28-300 or 70-200 f/2.8 attached, maybe an extra cf card. Anything much more and it's getting inconvenient or just "messy" to deal with.

I think it's great for carrying an "essential pro kit" (body / grip ,the f/2.8's, + stuff) and as a general walk-around bag. Very comfortable and I appreciate the lighter padding. It also works to carry "essentials" including more lenses when carrying the camera on it's own strap/ holster.

I do not agree with you on this point. There's plenty of room in the two front pockets.
It fits my 40D, even with his grip.

Being heavily loaded with a dslr, three or more lenses, a flash, an additional body, it's obviously getting a bit messy. It would anyhow be slighty overloaded for a shoulder bag in my opinion.
There's the room for it, but if you plan to move everything with you all the time and hold it on your shoulder the whole day, you'd rather go for another kind of bag.

About the side pockets, you're right. As I said before, It would only fit a few lens caps or a pen, which is quite useless.

The use you're describing is, in my opinion, what shoulder bags are designed for
