1)which of the factors are determined by the camera or the lens?or both.
2)whats are all the difference in the efs18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 and the efs18-135mm? is it only the zooming distance? no effect on the image ? 3) i heard that many ppl said that a fast lens is good in low light photography...eg, 50mm f/1.8 ii can fast lens produce such image? ![]() 4) if i set a long shutter speed, then does this mean that a fast lens would help to reduce the time? then the advantage of a fast lens to be fast will be "wasted" if i set a long shutter speed? 5)for instance, such images, where i can play with the "light and colours" Image 1 Image 2 when everything is put to constant, same focal length, same shutter speed, same effect, same iso, but the only difference is the lens, eg, using efs18-55mmf/3.5-5.6 and 50mmf1.8ii, can i produce the same image? is there difference in image noise? what is the difference then if both lens were to be compared? p/s: please leave your email so i could contact you if i have more questions Last edited by Nicole; 03-24-2011 at 09:20 PM. Other people on the site may be interested in learning more about a subject so I tend not to use personal messages or emails.
(1) ISO & shutter speed - Camera only. Aperture is the lens. Noise is a combination what ISO you are using and how well the pic is exposed. High ISO means more noise . Under exposure means more noise. See this exposure tutorial. Exposure (1) A balancing act (2) For practical purposes very little especially at smaller apertures. See the reviws here. http://www.the-digital-picture.com/R...s-Reviews.aspx. (3) Any lens is good for low light photography, if you are using a tripd and shooting static subjects. Using a fast lens may mean you do not need to use a tripod and/or you can capture action in low light. See this tutorial. Night Photography:2 - In the street. and see this tutorial re using fast lenses. Lenses #6 - Fast lenses And see this tutorial - Cityscapes at night. Night Photography:1 - Cityscapes. (4) If you are using a fast lens and not using it wide open the the Image quality (IQ) may be better (lenses usually perform best when stopped down at least a couple of stops). Shooting with a F2.8 lens at F5.6 will probably result in better IQ than using a F5.6 lens wide open. This may be lens dependant (More expensive, usually the better IQ ) (5) With everything constant the lens has no effect on the image noise. See question 1.
