I´ve been photographing since the 1990's, so most of my photos are not digital. I intend to digitalize my negatives, and want to have some opinions about equipments, price round $100.
Thanks P.S. all negatives are 35mm, ISO 25 or 100 Last edited by uderzo; 03-21-2011 at 06:37 PM. |

I don't think you're going to find a scanner anywhere near that price that will give you a high quality scan, one that you can make a nice 8x10 or 11x14 print. I bought an HP all-in-one that has 6 color ink cartridges and a negative/35mm scanner and I was disappointed with the results. I don't even think I could make a clean 4x6 from it. I found a lab in Oakland that has a professional scanner that probably costs 100K that I am going to try instead.

Anything under $100 will be junk. Straight up.
For the record I use an Epson V500. It's about 2.5-3x your budget, but it's fantastic.

whichever you select, it needs to have digital ICE or similar dust removal technology
the next thing is to have something like this otherwise you mind as well just set it up in front of a light and take digital photos of it.
