Default Max Cable Length

Hey guys,
What's the max recommended cable length when connecting a camera to a computer with a USB cable?

I found information stating 16 feet (5m). but I just want to make sure that there's not issues with video or stills. I read something about high speed communications and other types.

R.

Thanks
R.

I've never heard of a maximum cable length.

That's what I read too for USB 2.0 due to the cable delay specification. You can also use a hub (up to 5) to extend it.

Osmosis,
Yeah, some computer cables have a max length were they will work reliably. I saw a guy the other day connect his Mac running LR to his SLR, I just didn't notice or had the chance to ask him about the details.

Put it this way: if you need more than 16ft, you need a wireless solution.

Yeah I think you're right. I just wanted to make sure the restrictions weren't less than that.\

Thanks
