O flash ring adapter

What lighting effect do you get from using this attachment on your speedlite flash? I know nothing about it.

It tries to get the effect of a ring flash by using your existing flash in an extension gadget.

The effect for macro and small objects you get a softer shadow than the hot-shoe or built-in flash that give really hard shadows and glare 'hot' spots.

For portraits you get a circular lights in the eyes reflections that seems to be less obvious than hot-shoe or built ins.
