Too overwhelmed!!

I am currently in the process of setting up a small in-home studio. I have the camera and basic lighting equipment, but I need backdrops...... I am totally overwhelmed at the amount of information out there about what backdrops to buy, what not to buy, what size to buy etc. I am definitely leaning toward a muslin backdrop, (most likely one in black and one in white to get me started.) And I also think I want to stick with the 10x12 (I know everyone recommends the 10x20, but the room I am housing my small studio in is way to small to accommodate something of that size. Basically I will be using the indoor studio for (single) baby shots, and possibly mommy/daddy baby shots in addition to some youth dance shots, etc. So at most I will probably only have three to five people in one shot. I need help finding affordable (mid-grade) backdrops. I can't afford the high end ones, nor do I want the crappy low budget ones. Any suggestions on the material, size and where I can go?
