You dont NEED to get filters, but they do offer the possibility of special effects that arent attainable otherwise. It depends really on what you want to do

ive been asked to do some work for an alternative nightclub.
and i have a friend who sells fish ponds and is wanting photos for his website. the nightclubs not too bad my 50mm should be ok for that, but i can seem to get good pics of water?? and for myself, i love landscape shots |

The circular polarizer should help reduce glare from reflections off the water. It is most effective at a 90 degree angle relative to the sun. I use a graduated neutral density filter to reduce the brightness of the sky relative to the ground, since the sky is usually way brighter. I wouldn't buy a UV filter.
