Default Self-portrait camera harness..or somthin'...

Hey guys.. not sure where to post this, or even how the hell to ask what I'm looking for.

Plus, this is likely something that will be more video based than still frames.

Anyway.. what I'm looking for is one of those harnesses where you put the camera on it, it'll be basically a bit in front of the subjects face but attached firmly to the subjects body so that when the subject moves the camera stays with the subjects face/body in the center but it appears that the background is moving. I love the feel of this and was thinking of combining something like this with stop-motion shooting to make a video.

Any clue what this technique is called or the harness' name?

And recent example (which is what got my juices flowing again) is the fight scene in the recent Jack Johnson "At or With Me" music video.

Any/all help greatly appreciated!

Al

NOT around MY body hahah.

Nah, for what I have in mind, the camera has to be fixed to the subjects torso facing the subject. And it has to be much more stable that what you'd get even IF you could get a gorillapod around your torso. Think of it almost like a steadycam thingy, except the purpose is to keep the camera moving exactly with your body so that your body stays fixed in the frame, but the background is moving (when you move that is).

YES THIS! Thank you ... I'll have to check out the video at home since I can't see video at work, but I think this is the one. Too bad there's not a standard name for it so I can see what other options are out there.

Thanks Scott! You rock. I owe you a cookie.

Well, it's a "steadicam" type setup with a "body pod"...
You can rent a "glidecam setup" from lensrentals.com...they sell complete kit for about $250.
