Question Which Lens?

I'm looking to invest in a wide angle lens. Basically I'm trying to decide whether to go with the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 or the Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 Lens. (I plan to use the wide angle aspect for wedding parties and scenery.)
Thoughts?

Why 24mm or 35mm? Are you using a FF body and don't have a 24-70 f/2.8 or 24-105 f/4 IS already?

If you are using a 1.6 look into these before you put your money down.
Wide Angle Prime Lenses - SigmaPhoto.com

I have the Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro prime and it is just about the sharpest lens that I have ever used, I imagine these are nice as well. The reviews are good.

I try to stick with Canon, but I will take this into consideration.

I'm currently working with an 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 IS and a 55-250mm 5-6.6 IS on Canon 60D... and all I know is that I thought a wide angle would come in handy and add some variety to my shots. However I've looked at some sample pictures of both the lenses that I'm considering and I'm not noticing much of a difference -- between them or at all! Is there even a point in purchasing a lower-end wide angle?

I own both lenses, and they are ok on a 5D.

The 35mm is not a wide angle on a crop camera - It is more like a normal lens.
The 24mm is a bit wide on a crop body but a lot faster then your 18-200.
Try using your 18-200 at 24/35mm and see if that is wide enough for you.

OK. Both lenses may limit your work in terms of aperture. My recommendation is to look for a faster lens. But maybe that isn't what you are looking for.

BTW, 18-200 already has 24 and 35 covered. If you need a lens wider than 18mm then you can look into the Canon 10-22 UWA.
