Yes, for some reason this keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list and we are leaving on 2/2, but....
I am heading to Cambodia from the US and taking 2 camera battery chargers - one for my Nikon D5000 and one for my SD1200IS, and possibly my Dell Mini netbook. The numbers on these devices say they can handle the 230 v power there but would be much happier knowing the experiences of real people who have plugged there very own treasured devices. If needed, any suggestions on particular transformers converters would be great too. Thanks! Last edited by jorf; 01-23-2011 at 03:21 PM. |

All I have ever used, for many years now is an adapter plug. I keep these in a bag and on the plugs of the devices themselves.
Your computer and cameras are made to charge anywhere in the world. Here is the adapter I use the most for the laptop because of the surge protector: Surge Protection | Magellan's Travel Supplies Cambodia has 3 types of plugs: Flat blade, round and two parallel with a ground. Therefore, you will need 3 adapters. Get a bag of adapters and be set for any venue: World Grounding Adaptor Plug Set | Magellan's Travel Supplies I do not recommend converters because, I once got stuck with one that had gone bad. Since then, I make sure that all gadgets, devices, appliances are dual voltage. If these have a conversion switch don’t forget to flip that and then back again when you return. |

I've used a dual-voltage charger for a D40 in Europe with no problems. The dual-voltage chargers work fine.
