Default Wacom Tablets

Howdy,

Do any of you use tablets for editing your photos? If so, what size and what brand?

Thanks.

Wade

I use a Wacom Intous4 Small Size and it's awesome. I don't really need a larger size since I really only using it for masking.

Mine is 6 x 8 , but actually an old outdated model, you might want to look at the bamboo line up,, good features, good price.

I use an old Wacom that is 4:5 and it's a little small. It's about 7 years old, I wish I had invested in a larger one.

I'm considering upgrading to a bamboo

I use a Wacom Bamboo Fun Graphic Pad - Small CTE450WP1. I actually bought from J&R through Amazon. It was refurbished which was great because I only paid $44 with free shipping. I'm not sure how the newer models perform and the difference in functionality, but price was the main concern for me. Thankfully the functionality provided with this model covers everything I would need. Just to note, I use the tablet and pen from this set and not the mouse since I love my Logitech Nano. The old, "normal" sized mouse, the type included here, feels like a brick in my hand comparatively.

As far as value and use in editing pictures, I don't know how I managed before without it. It's simply near impossible, technically needless to say mentally, to achieve the degree of detail when making edits with a mouse. A tablet is a great tool to have in your arsenal.

I'm not sure what kind of features you might be looking for in a tablet, but if price is a factor, this model is great. Unfortunately J&R doesn't seem to have any refurbished units available at the moment, but even the new price isn't bad (compared to a lot of other models at any rate). Hope this helps.

I have the Bamboo (the small one) ... like Sugared Ellipses, I bought mine via Amazon.com and paid like $49 w/free shipping (and got it new. Thank you "Black Friday Sale"). Since I've never used a tablet before, I'm glad I went with the smaller one due to the learning curve involved, but I kind of wish I went with the Pen & Touch ... thanks to my MacBook Pro, I keep trying to use the tablet as a touch screen
