Default Adapt or wait?

I'm looking at getting a faster lens for my camera which is a Samsung NX5. It's got a APS-C sensor so I'm guessing I'll need to go for about a 35mm.

I was looking at getting a Pentax K mount adapter and a second-hand lens. The adapter is about £25 on e-bay and I think I could pick up a lens for under £50. I reckon I could save that up in a few weeks and be snapping away pretty quickly.

But I've also heard that Samsung are bringing out new prime lenses for the NX soon, and I think Samyang also do/will be doing some. But I don't think they're quite out yet and they will probably be about £200+ which will take me a bit longer to save up.

I'm going to Vegas for a friends wedding in April and although I'm not "the" photographer, I'd like to be able to take a few pics. I'm not sure my kit lens will really cut it. Which would you go for? Obviously the adapter will enable me to use other second hand lenses but does it affect quality?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Bex

I'm an adapting fool, so I'd say go for it--the lens you've got now is always going to work better than the one sitting on a shelf (or that isn't available). You can always sell the lens+adapter to someone else if a native-mount option comes along you probably won't lose too much in the transaction, and in the meantime, you'll have had it to use.

The adapter probably won't affect image quality at all, since no glass elements are needed.
