Question Instant images???

I'm hoping to see if there's some sort of way to take a picture, then have it show up right away on my laptop... I have a Nikon D80 and a D90.

Is there some sort of cable and software that would make this happen?

A USB cable is all you'll need and then the appropriate software. Lightroom and Aperture both allow tethered shooting. And if you have a mac, there's also Sofortbild - Mac Tethered Shooting which is a mac app, but is free. Oh, and http://www.capturenx.com/ which is by Nikon, but isn't free.

Thank you Nicole... Is there a setting that I have to set in camera to allow the image to be sent to the computer?
I'll def have to check out that software.
I have lightroom, but I don't like how it eats up ALL my memory when backing up everything I do. So I don't use it. :/

Nope, you don't have to change any setting on the camera. I should've been more specific that in LR 3 it's built in to the software. So, with LR3 open and your camera plugged in, you just go to File > Tethered Capture > Start Tethered Capture.

Oh, you might also find a few more options over here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/adobe_l...7623263453779/

There is a free one for windows on diyphotobits. I've used it with my D60 and D90. It does other things like time lapse or activating the shutter from the computer.

I have LR2, so I'm not sure if it has tethered shooting abilities... I did check out the link for Nikon | Imaging Products | CaptureNX2... But I didn't see anything about tethering. ??

Even learning the term "Tethered Shooting", is a big help.

You guys have given me a great start.
