Default Help Buying a Budget Comp/Laptop

I'm looking to buy a budget laptop/computer that will work well with photo editing. Currently I have photoshop and lightroom but both \process so slow that it has gotten me away from taking photos. Any good deals out there? What are the minimum system requirements people would reccomend?

4gigs of ram and an i5 processor and you will be fine to throw any kind of photo editing at it. Just about every laptop now adays has at least 500 gigs of hard drive space. Acer makes good, less expensive laptops and are around €500 local here, probably much cheaper in the US but you didn´t tell us where you were located.

You can always add more RAM, so I would recommend getting a laptop with the fastest processor you can afford. Those i7s are the best, but will probably cost you over $900 US dollars. An i5 would still be a very fast processor for a laptop and I think I saw some advertised recently for about $700 US. If that is out of your range, the next step down would be an i3 processor. I would try for the i5 if you can get it, though.

I don't know if they still sell them, but don't get one with a Celeron processor (slow). At minimum, get a dual core pc.
