I am gathering studio equipment, even though I do not yet have a studio of my own. I do have access to one - and all the equipment therein. So, no big rush on acquiring my own space.
I'm gathering items I can use on remote location shoots. One of those items will be a trigger/receiver for off-camera flash and remote lighting. I bought an inexpensive ($25) set of CowboyStudio trigger/receiver just to test an old Vivitar 2500 with my Canon bodies. They work like a charm for single shot or intermediate shooting. So, I'm ready to take the next step and get a better set -- one that is expandable and will be very reliable at a greater distance. [BTW, not knocking the CowboyStudio setup. They were great on my cameras and with the V2500, but are limited in configuration & distance.] For the near future, I'll be shooting mostly with flash units and not studio lights (hope to be able to add AlienBee's sometime this year). I have been reading about Radiopopper Jrx / PX and Pocket Wizards -- though I still know very little about either. Therefore, I'm looking for YOUR opinions and insight. Hey, if there's another brand that is economically priced (NOT "cheap"), I'm all ears. THANKS!
