Default LCD Protection Shield vs. Plastic Cover

I have been thinking about using a screen protector for my LCD screen on my D90 instead of the plastic cover it comes with.

The plastic cover scratches easily, gets dust between it and the screen, and smudges is hard to see through.

I have been using an excellent screen protector on my iPhone, and have been pretty pleased, so I thought I would give it a try instead of the plastic cover.

Has anyone else tried this?
Anyone have any thoughts on doing this?

Hey,

I have been using a universal screen protector like the one on your iPhone and it works for me. It is non-obstructive and you don't really even notice that it is there.
