Default Nikon D7000

I am debating on getting a Nikon D7000. I am wondering if anyone has experience with that camera. I have read a LOT of reviews but they are always written by the professionals. I want opinions from ordinary people who use this camera. Thank you.

I was going to ask why you want to upgrade your D40, but I see on your Flickr page you are using a D5000. You have some great shots there, what do you think the D7000 will give you that you are not currently getting in you D5000? Sure its a better camera, but do you need it? What features are you missing that you need / want ?

My general advice is never to upgrade unless you can name specific, real reasons. Whatever someone else tells you doesn't matter. (Including me!)

I'm talking about things like "The D7000 has (name a specific feature) which my D5000 doesn't, and that will help me because (specific technical or artistic reason)".

Upgrading your camera won't help you make better photos, unless (maybe) you're already running up against some big limitations of your current equipment. I really doubt that's the case, based on your post and your current equipment.

Thank you.
The reason for the upgrade is so that I will have Auto FP High-Speed Sync and full CLS. The D40 had those features but unfortunately I gave it to my neice before I started experimenting with anything.

d7000 seems to be a good machine.. havn't used one personally.

you could also get a D90 for cheap... and does all those things you want

Note.. the D5000 Doesn't do AutoFP (high speed sync)
so, in that case its' D90, D7000 or D300s
