Hi,
I am thinking of buying a new focusing screen for my Nikon D60, as I have a Nikkor 50mm 1.8D that has only MF on the D60 (and I might be buying other MF lenses in the future). I was wondering what is the difference between:
I've seen some focus screens on e-bay and also the ones on KatzEye's website. Is it worth spending the extra money for the more expensive focus screens, or are the cheaper ones good too? Thanks. Last edited by razvi9; 12-23-2010 at 12:23 PM. |

The degree is the angle of the split, I preferred 45....Double/single is number of circles/rings, I preferred double. But that was a long time ago w/ Nikon F/FM cameras.
W/ digital they will affect the metering, the cheaper ones possibly worse...You can adjust for that. (Hell, my D3 typically meters "hot") Apparently w/ digital the double ring can go "black" sometimes...Personally I haven't bought one although I've thought of it....I just use the focus confirmation in the eyepiece.
