Does anybody have the Nikon 35mm 1.4? I have found a few reviews but considering that it is a relatively new lens, I don't find the reviews particularly useful. I want to have somebody's opinion who really uses it. ( I don't like reviews based on a sample copy which is tested in studio conditions.)
So is it worth buying it? Sharp wide open? Is AF fast AND accurate? Is it useful? Thanks!

Unfortunately, I haven`t had the chance. (I did get to look through one at the display at the nikon center in Osaka, but I didn`t take any pictures) I can imagine the lens is very nice however - as I have extensively used the 24 1.4. It likely has very similar optical qualities. I`ll be interested to hear what others think of the new 35 1.4 myself - though, I doubt I`ll be able to purchase it anytime soon - and not sure that I ever will, though it would be great fun to use.
I would be wiling to induct that it is very contrasty, very sharp to the corners by f2.8 and decently sharp at f1.4, It will likely have very accurate tracking, but suffer from the same acquisition times as all of the new afs primes (85, 24, 50). I would also bet that it will have very little coma - and would be great for astrophotography. However, my opinion isn`t what you realIy want as I haven`t actually used one. You do realize you're asking for people to relate practical experience on an $1800 lens that you can't actually get your hands on, yet, right? B&H and Adorama both list the 35/1.4G as pre-order only with no known arrival date.
