Default Need info about lenses on a fullframe vs DX body

I have a Nikon D80 that I think want to upgrade in Spring. If I want to upgrade to a full frame, means that you need different (more expensive) lenses?
LIke i have one 18-70mm DX, a 50mm 1.8 and a 70-300 mm VR, does it mean that I can use my 50mm and 70-300 on a full frame body, just not the DX?

Kindof -

Your 18-70 will mount on a full frame nikon camera, but the image circle it produces isn't big enough. So the Full frame camera will automatically crop - giving you a roughly 5 megapixel image. If you were to turn the autocrop off, you would get an image with black around the edges and your image in a circle in the center.

So - in one sense you can use the 18-70 on full frame, but you probably wouldn't want to Your 50 and 70-300 will function just fine on full frame.

A better question is why do you want to go full frame? I am not saying you should not, but I think you need to fully understand what you are getting into. There are some great advantages to full frame, but also some downsides and for many photographers the only difference will be that it will end up costing you a lot more money to obtain the exact same image.

I am not sure yet, more like "if I want to upgrade to fullframe"....The question could also be, if you want to go into professional portraits/wedding photography, how important would it be to upgrade to a D300 or a D700?
When I look at images from both cameras and compare I see the difference, of course, next to each other.
For me low light condition would be an important factor (although I do sports too, but that is minor) indoors, concerts, etc. Would a D300 be good enough (or maybe upgrade next year a D400?)?
