Wasn't sure if this should go in the "other gear" area since it is not still camera related.......so, sorry if it needs to be moved.
Anyways, does anyone have one of those little video cameras like this? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...mera_Red_.html I saw a similar one called a Flip for $99 on walmart.com. My 8 yr old son videos himself building legos and making origami stuff all the time on the cell phone and he really wants his own video camera for Christmas. Seems like I am finding a lot for around this price range, then it jumps up to around the $300 mark. I want to spend around $100 (maybe up to $150) but I am hoping that these things are not total junk. Anybody have one of these? What do you think of it? If not this particular model, do you have another one that you can recommend? Thanks in advance. |

My kids use a Flip at school. I haven't seen what it produces, but they seem happy with it.

flip videos rock. easy to use, easy to download, quality is decent. they even have an HD version. I have the standard, I got it 2 years ago when they first came out. All the video in this link is flip...
Idaho State IDPA Championships - The Movie - September 19, 2009/state2009compressed1 it's kinda long but you'll see the first video part within the first minute or so... |

If it's like the Zi8, then it's a pain. It says fixed focus, so I'll assume it is.
Basically, anything in the 1-6 ft range will be out of focus.
