good for what?

Its a well made flash that is powerful and fairly reliable. It is also fully manual (i believe). So you "good" depends on how you want to use it.

There are plenty of threads about it if you google the name.

If you need to go Strobist cheaply, yeah. If you want to put it on a hotshoe to shoot a wedding or use a Canon/Nikon pop-up flash as a master, not so much...
