Default OS X Lion and New Macbook Air

So apple just announced OS X Lion and the new Macbook Air

do you think these products will be good for photography or not? explain.

I dont think OS X Lion will change photo processing really, everyone will still just use lightroom (or aperture), im sure there will be some nice photo apps

as far as macbook air, it seems to have a decent gpu, but idk if the dinky 1.4ghz 2 core processor and 2gb of ram will be enough to process and copy hundreds of hi-res photos, also, flash memory is great for speed but not for storage, you'd have to automatically put everything on an external disk (but im sure a lot of people do that anyway) however, u could easily bring it along on shoots and trips

not sure until I use one... but you can get a 2.13 dualcore with 4gb ram and a 250gb ssd... could be fun, almost the same spec as my macbookpro...

checking one out today for work... will report back...

Processing power aside, the other problem with MB Air for me is no built in drive. I always have to burn CD/DVDs on the road.

You can always carry the Optional Super drive. . .

I’m sticking with the 15” MB Pro.

SO I'm just back from seeing / playing with the little "air" ...yeah, it's sweet and works fine... didn't have photoshop / lightroom on it, so... no idea... but I'd buy a macbookpro first me thinks.

The Air line never was designed for hardcore users: its for people who need a laptop with them constantly, but dont necessarily need to be doing anything terribly difficult, complicated, or ressource intensive.

Yet you can get a CTO that's almost the same spec as my 17" MacBook Pro.... So I don't see why you wouldn't use one if you were a press shooter that had to submit in the field... maybe...
