Default 50-500 sigma the power of

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobuckethi everybody.i took these shots with a 50-500 sigma lens and thought some would like to see what they can do,the first shot is a taken close to the lighthouse i have never seen a stainless steel lighthouse before.the 2nd(500mm) and 3rd(50mm) were taken from the rocks at the bottom of the cliff in the same position .i am very happy with this lens ,its main fault is you need good sun light to get fast shutter speeds, when the hood is on and the clouds come over i get some vignetting it is heavy i can only hold it to my eye for a short time before i get the shakes but since i purchased a mono pod its not a issue anymore( it takes a bit of practice to pan surfing shots using one )

Wow!!, that is a nice telezoom

I like the Sigma lenses, I think are a good quality glass for the price, in other words: good value.

I have a 70-300 that is amazing when there is a good sun light and fairly good with overcast days, and even with a low light but with very low shutter speeds.

What are the apertures for that lense?.

Cheers!

I'm also interested in getting one of these.... eventually. I'd be very interested to read about how it holds up for you over time. I was reading the customer reviews on Amazon just last night and there seems to be a common problem with the lenses not focusing properly or some other type of misbehavior, shortly after initial use.

Let us know, good luck!

I have the 150-500mm Sigma and took this shot of the Harvest Moon a few weeks ago. I also have a Sigma 2x TC, so this is @ 1000mm. It's just the moon, but I thought it turned out pretty clear.

Bye-Bye Harvest Moon

I have one which I keep holding onto as my "travel long lens"...It's good with enough light....I also own a 500mm f/4.3 and a 300-800mm f/5.6 which are "better" but I can't bring myself to unload the 50-500.
