Default Computer monitor....

So my computer screen just pooped out on me a few weeks ago. I am down to using my laptop. I have to say, the coloring isn't that off when printed, but it isn't great either. Since I need to buy a new monitor anyway, I thought I would get the best advice on what screen to buy for photography. I am NOT a pro photographer so I will not be spending big bucks. I need something affordable but will give me the best bang for my buck. Please explain in simple terms or teach me what you are talking about because I am not that familiar with computer terms. If there is already a post about this, please point me in the right direction. I know for best results I will need a screen calibrator, and I swear it is on my long list of things I want/need. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
